Hi lovely souls! I’m Jess.

I’m originally from Newcastle in the North of the UK, where I spent my early digital days experimenting with computer games. I studied Games Development at Northumbria University and graduated in 2015.

My passion for accessible design was inspired by my older sibling, who has cerebral palsy. Some of my earliest memories are of us playing console games together in the '90s, having to share a controller since she only had the use of one hand. This experience shaped my focus on designing for accessibility, a theme that continues to guide my work.

After university, I managed an accessible games development studio while collaborating with Leonard Cheshire on their digital inclusion programme. Teaching others about technology was rewarding, but in 2020, I left Newcastle and made a new home on the small island of Guernsey, just off the coast of France. There, I worked in a corporate Graphic Design role while also studying UX/UI Design. In 2021, I was promoted to UX/UI Designer and worked on projects for Fragrance Direct before branching out to freelance in small studios around the island. I also completed my Graphic Design studies at Shillington Education, graduating in 2023.

The flexibility of freelancing allowed me to travel, and at the end of 2023, I set off to explore the world. After stumbling upon a hidden gem in New Zealand, I decided to stay and experience life here for a couple of years. It’s good to be here!
