Seeker is an online data scraper that functions as a directory or digital shop window with revenue generated through advertisements and agency fees. We were approached to redesign the UX and UI of the site from something tired to new and exciting whilst retaining its low-maintenance model.
The core site centres around properties, vehicles, and jobs. With most visitors heading straight to the water and weather pages, we set out to create something fresh, adventurous, and engaging — distinct from traditional agency websites — to inspire excitement and encourage people to explore all that the beautiful island of Guernsey has to offer. We were also asked to consider advertisements as a form of income.
A cohesive yet distinctive visual language was established across both website sections through thoughtful typography and colour choices. The water, weather, and surf pages feature secondary navigation with a flexible layout and clear hierarchy. The assistant was designed as an animated “helper”, represented by a live-updating ellipsis, providing real-time updates. (Think beep, boop, retro robot)
Typography
We rarely use three fonts in a single project, but in this case, flexibility was key to seamlessly merging both parts of the site. To achieve this, we combined the structure of a Grotesk with the clarity of a Sans, creating a balanced and cohesive typographic system.
